Continuing along with her long day on the set of “Gossip Girl,” Leighton Meester was spotted in New York City on Monday (March 1). Shooting scenes with co-star Penn Badgley, the brunette beauty looked cute in a green coat paired with a yellow bag and yellow heels.

In related news, Meester, who is set to release her first music album in the next few months, will reportedly take a break from her singing to focus on acting.

Word has it, Leighton will star in a new movie called “The Oranges” which centers around a man’s romantic relationship with the daughter of a family friend, which turns all their lives upside down.

Leighton Meester is arguably the happiest starlet we’ve ever encountered. She’s loving her celebrity lifestyle and riding the wave of Gossip Girl fabulousness -  she embarked upon a singing career, and released her debut single, ‘Somebody to Love’ last November.

And it’s not just about singing… The fashionista otherwise known as Blair Waldorf in her Gossip Girl guise is working on two films out this year. Date Night with 30 Rock’s Tina Fey and The Roommate, which she told us was ‘the most emotionally draining experience of my life.’

In our interview, Leighton also lifted the lid on how it was that she ended up relocating from her hometown of Georgia to Manhattan at the age of 11. ‘It was crazy. I’ll never forget it.’ And though NYC didn’t turn out to be quite the place she’d imagined ‘We went to an apartment of my mom’s siter’s friend… It was nice, but there were mice and cockroaches..’ Still, it didn’t stop Meester making Manhattan her home.

Talking about Blair, she recognises she’s a little, well, feisty. ‘She can be very aggressive… What she hates in herself are her insecurities, and what I can relate to is the pain she must go through. Everyone has insecurities.’ And notes their differences when it comes to fashion; ’she has expensive tastes and I do too, but I’m not snobby,’ she says. ‘ Sometimes I feel like going all out – I’ll wear a gown – and sometimes I’ll wear jeans.’ Read more… »

Is Leighton Meester beginning to confuse herself with her Gossip Girl character Blair Waldorf?

A source tells the New York Post that the actress and budding songbird copped a major attitude while dining with pals and GG co-star Ed Westwick at New York eatery Philiipe on Tuesday. According to the mole, the star-studded dinner party was causing a ruckus at the establishment, getting loud and cursing up a blue streak, much to the consternation of a nearby table of lawyers and investment bankers. When one of the diners asked Meester to tone down the sailor talk, Meester reportedly replied,

“F*ck you! How dare you tell us to keep it down?”

Leighton Meester has revealed that Cyndi Lauper gave her advice about her music career.
The Gossip Girl star added that she is “excited” about releasing her own album.
“Recently I’ve spent a lot of time with Cyndi Lauper, and she’s a legend,” Meester told People. “She gave me the advice, ‘Never sell your publishing’, so I’ll take that.
“I get more excited than nervous, and I feel like that’s the best kind of energy to have.”
Meester, who has worked with Lil Wayne on a track for her album, added: “I’m just having the time of my life, and I hope it continues.”

They’re set to costar with country music icon Tim McGraw and “Eragon” star Garrett Hedlund. Gwyneth takes the role of a falling supernova, a country star whose career was once admired, but is headed for a free fall. She soon gets wrapped up with a new country star (Garrett) whose popularity is fleeting. In somewhat of a resurrection tour for Gwyneth’s character, the two embark on a rollercoaster of a journey with her husband/manager (Tim) and a powerful beauty queen/budding singer (Leighton). They all — go figure! — get tangled up romantically, creating controversy.

Lady Gaga talked recently with People magazine about her performance on the TV show “Gossip Girl”. She starts the interview talking about her wardrobe, stating:
“We discussed having a very flowy red dress, but [the dress] arrived today and it’s about 30-feet long! That was an adjustment. But nothing that I couldn’t handle.”
She goes on to say that is was a little bit more of a “fashion montage”. Gaga calls her appearance on tonights show “performance art”. Happy with her choice to appear on the TV show, and with her performance she says:
