Leighton Meester mixes her own perfume.

The ‘Gossip Girl’ actress loves experimenting with different fragrances to suit her mood but prefers to create her own scent from essential oils.

She explained: “I love perfume and I wear all kinds of different types depending on my mood.

“But for the past couple of years I’ve been making my own perfume out of essential oils, so I use that. It’s kind of a vanilla scent.”

Though the brunette beauty takes time to blend her perfume, she admits she doesn’t spend long applying her make-up every day.

She added to Britain’s Cosmopolitan magazine: “I never wear make-up when I’m not working. Very rarely I’ll put on a little bit of concealer here and there and maybe some red lipstick just to make it look like I made the effort – it does wonders.”

The actress also revealed her beauty icons to be actress Julianne Moore, Cate Blanchett and Dame Helen Mirren.

She said: “I really love Julianne Moore for having fair skin and a really beautiful smile. I love Cate Blanchett because she glows from within. And I love how Helen Mirren has aged so gracefully. She’s gorgeous and quite sexy.”

The duo were joined on set by co-stars Katie Cassidy and Selena Gomez.

Leighton Meester finds music more fulfilling than acting.

The ‘Gossip Girl’ star has just released her second single ‘Your Love’s a Drug’ and insists creating something from nothing is more rewarding than working from a script.

She told Popeater.com: “You can start from square one and really build a song from whatever your heart desires. And that’s the most fulfilling. I just want it to be good. I want people to get a sense of me through my music.”

Leighton – whose album ‘Love Is A Drug’ is expected to be released this summer – has also named Ke$ha’s ‘Tik Tok’ and The Black Eyed Peas track ‘I Gotta Feeling’ as two of her favourite songs and direct influences.

She said: “They make you feel like you don’t have to worry about tomorrow.”

Although Leighton, 24, is focusing on her music right now, she is also working on a new film with Adam Brody and Hugh Laurie.

The singer-and-actress is having an “amazing” time on ‘The Oranges’, which will also star Catherine Keener, Allison Janney, Oliver Platt, and Alia Shawkat.

She said: “It’s about two families that live across the street from each other and are super close friends and my character, Nina, she’s pretty much absent from the whole family for a while.

“She comes back and starts to have a relationship with Hugh’s character, David, and it really disrupts all their lives. It’s been amazing so far.”

Leighton will also be heading to Budapest soon, where she will join Selena Gomez, Katie Cassidy, and Cory Monteith for the shooting of their new movie Monte Carlo.

An eyewitness told the esteemed publication Life & Style, “He ducked out of the building and hopped into a waiting car. He apparently spent the night with Leighton, and didn’t want anyone to know.”

However, it has come into the sharp eyes of the tabloid that the truth is far away from what is being portrayed. Apparently, Robert has never even met Meester, so a one night stand scenario is as improbable as a fish flying in air. In fact, Robert was in Hungary along side his buddy cum lady love Kristen Stewart on her 20th birthday.

Hence, the reports carried by Life & Style Magazine can be dismissed as mere figments of imagination and it would surely taint the image of such a popular magazine (as in future, people would definitely doubt the authenticity of its stories).

The 24-year-old brunette actress/singer, best known for her role of Blair Waldorf in ‘Gossip Girl’, was just named as the latest face of Herbal Essences.

During an interview with WWD, Leighton was quizzed as to what her best asset was, to which she replied: “Versatility. I try different looks and I’m happy that I can achieve them and not look like a clown. I like to have fun with hair and make-up.”

Meester also revealed that sometimes she embraces a more natural look. “You can get used to getting your make-up and hair done all the time and then you don’t love what you look like naturally,” she added.

“So I try to embrace that. I learned to love the way I look without make-up and how my hair dries naturally. It took me a long time.”

Leighton – who recently split from Sebastian Stan – concluded: “I’m lucky because expressing my personal style is fun and I have fun with it. Everyone should love their own look. Don’t copy; do your own thing.”

Like Westwick and Szohr, Meester and Stan have starred alongside each other in the hit show, with her playing Blair Waldorf, and him Carter Baizen.

A source revealed to OK! that it was Meester who initiated the break-up, revealing she ended things because she ‘doesn’t know how to be in a relationship and doesn’t really like them.’

With no comment as yet from either Meester or Stan’s camp, we’ll have to wait and see whether Leighton really is GG’s latest single girl.

Joining the young actresses are Katie Cassidy (’Melrose Place’) and Glee star Cory Monteith. Andie MacDowell and Nicole Kidman are also involved.

The film is an adaptation of Jules Bass’ young-adult book ‘Headhunters’ and will be directed by Tom Bezucha.

The story focuses on Selena who flies to Monte Carlo for a charity auction with her friends Meester and Cassidy, after being mistaken for a socialite.

Gomez recently said of meeting Kidman: “Nicole is the coolest person ever, and very sweet. So I was very happy!”

Filming will start this spring.

In season one of the teen drama, Blair, played by Leighton Meester, was seen gorging on food whenever she faced problems in her life.

Savage said that the moment during the episode is “very subtle”, but added that “people who are looking for it, they will find it”.

She also told Entertainment Weekly that Carter’s return is tied to the arrival of Serena’s father, played by William Baldwin.
